CHARGE LAID
We have charged a man who is believed to have propositioned a teenage girl for sexual services in exchange for money & gifts.
In June 2024, a 15-year-old girl & her family attended Pilav Central restaurant, located at 8330 Macleod Tr. S.E. At the time, they were approached by a man who identified himself as the restaurant owner. During their conversation, the man offered the girl an employment interview & provided her with his personal contact details to make arrangements.
A few days later, the man exchanged text messages with the girl & offered to interview her on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Chinook Mall, located at 6455 Macleod Tr. S.W. She accepted the offer & attended the interview as scheduled.
During the interview, the man began asking her personal questions related to her relationship status & sexual history. The girl felt uneasy & made attempts to redirect the questioning. It is believed the man then offered her $8,000 in exchange for sexual services. He is also believed to have offered to marry her when she reached the age of 18 & indicated he would financially support her & provide other benefits for doing so. At the conclusion of the meeting, he provided her with a code phrase of, “ready for a second interview,” to use if she was interested in accepting the offer.
The girl promptly reported the incident to police.
Following a thorough investigation, Ruslan Reuven PINKHASOV, 48, has been charged with 1 count of obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18 years of age.
PINKHASOV will next appear in court on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
