For the last 15 years, the Sexual Abuse Network of Canada has created a national searchable database of charged and convicted sexual offenders from right across Canada that citizens could use to know whos living near them and their children.
Over the years we have faced Facebook bans for sharing too many posts too fast; then it was banning our second and third accounts we used to use so we were able to get the message out to all the local community groups we operate.
When the Online News Act first came out, it deleted thousands of news stories off our database so no one could look up these offenders. It took the wind out of our sails, but shortly after we got a game plan and went back at it.
Well, since Canada pissed in Trump’s cornflakes, Meta went on the ban/suspension kick again, this time removing community groups like our Daily News Groups.
We have taken the final step and are duplicating all posts onto our own website ( not hosted in the USA ) so that we can ensure the names of these offenders can be online and searchable without keeping walking into another big tech and government pissing match.
How can you help??
Well, it has cost over 2000 bucks so far to secure the webserver for both SANC and the DAILYNEWSGOUPS, along with buying several domain names and online website services like newsletter software so we can start sending out weekly newsletters with the newest additions that week.
If you’re in the financial position to help, it would be greatly appreciated. We are just a small group with a big reach but take the financial burden on ourselves, but this last upgrade really drained the account.
E-transfers work the best at donate@sanc.ca where there are no fees and the money goes right to work. We also have an option for credit cards. Direct deposit, checks, so please let us know what’s good for you.
Election season is around the corner, and every election we contact every candidate to see where they land on child sexual abuse cases and sex offenders in general, then publish a list of those that promise to help and those that don’t. This process takes weeks and countless hours on the phone and emails to get the message out about the work we do .
