CHARGES LAID
We have charged a Calgary man who is believed to have exposed himself to 2 young girls at a school in the southwest community of Palliser earlier this week.
On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at approx. 12:40 p.m., 2 students at Nellie McClung School, located at 2315 Palliser Drive S.W., noticed a man acting suspiciously near the school before he entered a treed area & exposed himself while looking in the direction of the girls.
The students immediately reported the incident to school staff who called police.
After speaking with the students & school staff, police obtained a detailed physical description of the suspect & began investigating. Officers were able to obtain CCTV from a nearby residence, which led to the identification of the suspect.
The next day, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, police located & arrested the suspect, who was found near the school.
As a result, Alejandro Jose CERVERA-MARIN, 26, is charged with:
2 counts of indecent exposure to persons under the age of 16
2 counts of criminal harassment
1 count of intimidation
He is also charged under the Education Act with 1 count each of loitering or trespassing on school property & conduct detrimental to safe operation of a school.
CERVERA-MARIN will next appear in court on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
