A 27-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., has been charged in connection with an investigation into child pornography in Moncton, N.B.
The investigation, led by the New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit, began in October 2022, following information received from the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Crime Centre.
On August 29, 2024, members of the ICE Unit, Codiac Regional RCMP, and the RCMP’s Digital Forensic Services Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on McKenzie Avenue in Moncton, as part of the investigation. Police seized several electronic devices and a 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He was later released on strict conditions pending a future court appearance.
On March 18, 2025, 27-year-old Daniel David Froude was charged with possession of child pornography.
On March 19, 2025, Daniel David Froude appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and a future date was set for election and plea.
The New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit includes members from the Saint John Police Force and the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force.
