Public information and warning: Violent sexual offender released

In the interest of public safety, the Edmonton Police Service is issuing the following warning. David Adams is a convicted violent sexual offender, and the Edmonton Police Service has reasonable grounds to believe he will commit another violent offence against someone while in the community.
Adams will be residing in Edmonton after he is released from jail. He is currently subject to a court order with conditions, and will be managed by the Behavioural Assessment Unit of the Edmonton Police Service.
Adams is a child sexual offender who has a history of using the internet to lure young teens to meet. Adams has also approached random young female victims in public to request sex and expose himself.
Adams has been placed on a series of court ordered conditions including:
He must live at a residence approved by his supervisor, and must not change that address until he has received written approval from his supervisor.
He must abide by a curfew of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily unless a varied time is approved in writing by his supervisor.
He must not travel out of the City of Edmonton without written approval of his supervisor.
He must not enter into any personal or romantic relationship with a person who is a guardian of children under the age of 16 without written approval from his supervisor.

The Edmonton Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community.
