Surrey Police Service and the Special Victims Unit of the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) are advising the public that a man has been charged with additional offences in connection with a sexual assault investigation that commenced in July 2024.

This has been an active and ongoing investigation led by the Special Victims Unit (SVU) of the SPOSU since July 2024 and investigators have gathered further evidence which has led to additional charges. On January 22, 2025, Jatinder Singh was arrested and charged with four additional offences: two counts of trespass at night near dwelling house and two counts of secretly observing/recording nudity in a private place.

On February 7, 2025, Jatinder Singh was released by courts with multiple conditions which included electronic monitoring until the end of May 2025. He is to be under a curfew after this time period and monitored by a bail supervisor.

Background:

On July 20, 2024, at 3:15 am, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an alleged stranger sexual assault in the 14100 block of 91 Avenue. On August 16, 2024, 24-year-old Jatinder Singh of Surrey was charged with break and enter and sexual assault. He was released by the courts with conditions.
