HALIFAX – RCMP have charged the director of an organization that provides services to people with physical and intellectual disabilities with the sexual assault of a teenage girl.
Anthony Leo Gough, 48, the executive director of Social Opportunities and Rec Society of Nova Scotia, is facing charges after a 17-year-old girl who was attending a March break camp hosted by the not-for-profit group reported on Monday she had been sexually assaulted.
Gough was arrested without incident on Tuesday in Lower Sackville, N.S. and charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation of a person with disability and driving while disqualified.
He was due to appear in court on Wednesday.
Police believe there could be other possible victims and are asking anybody with information about the incident or others to call 902-490-5180.
The investigation is ongoing.
